Contemporary Wedding Cakes

The days of the traditional style of wedding cakes are long gone. There has been a lot of development in the Wedding Cake segment of wedding planning.  Couples are now opting for a cake that reflects both their personality and the theme of the wedding. Once the date is set couples are advised to also consider the venue, budget and guest list before choosing their cake.

The flavours of wedding cakes have also evolved; persons no longer choose the traditional Black Fruit cake or Sponge cake but are opting for Carrot, Red Velvet, Lemon and Chocolate cakes or any flavor that appeals to their interest. The option of different tiers in different flavours is also an upcoming trend.

Additionally cupcakes are a favourite amongst couples; this option has allowed couples to replace their wedding cakes with cupcakes and serving it as dessert or as part of the very popular option of a candy display.

However, whatever style chosen, Wedding Cakes still remains the centerpiece of the wedding and the cake cutting tradition still holds significance in the event.
